We are an Orthodox Christian business on a mission….
We create tools that support you and your Orthodox Christian family to learn and grow deeply in the faith. That is what our name, Family Chotki, means.
Chotki (pronounced chyotki) means prayer rope in Russian. Our prayer ropes are a tool we use to help us in our prayer life. Similarly, we are creating tools that help you nurture your family’s spiritual growth. So we are creating family tools…or Family Chotki.
Our Story
In 2018, we knew we wanted to do something that supported Orthodox families in a deep way. We didn’t want to invent something rather we wanted to augment what the Church was already doing so that we helped both newly baptized and cradle born better understand the Orthodox Christian faith. That is how the Study Journals came to be. We found a way to emphasize what the Church was already doing but in a way that didn’t just skim the surface. We wanted every Great Feast day to open our spiritual eyes to the great miracles that take place during each of those services.
Originally we started with the name Homeschool Chotki but quickly realized what we were doing was for all Orthodox Christian families. So we renamed our company to Family Chotki to make sure we were working for a broader audience.
Our goal is to keep creating all the Great Feast Study Journals as well as expand to other related products that fit into our business mission and ethos of helping you nourish your Orthodox Christian family’s spiritual growth.
To create a big vision for our goals and make sure we are on the same page with you, our customers, we want to share our mission statement:
Family Chotki supports Orthodox Christian families along the royal path. We encourage parents to lead by example and create a home environment centered around your little Church. We also inspire children to embrace their Orthodox faith. Our products are designed for families who are committed to living out their faith in all aspects of life.
